First time I saw the moon in Autralia

It’s real­ly damned hot here in Castle­maine. But the heat makes me for­get that I might have a jet lag. In the morn­ing we went to Castle­maine, vis­it a lit­tle mar­ket and had a nice cup of cof­fee. (pho­to: main­street with townhall)

Lat­er we went to Elmore yes­ter­day at this nice sum­mer­fest but before Pen­ny gave me the chance to take one step to New South Wales. Here you see the pho­to when we crossed Mur­ray Riv­er Bridge to NSW .

So final­ly I will be able to say I was in almost all states except Aus­tralian Cap­i­tal Ter­ri­to­ry and Queens­land. You will see 🙂

I stay now for some days in Camp­bells Creek a very impor­tant town in Vic­to­ria and I am lucky to go to Elmore anoth­er very impor­tant city in Vic­to­ria and it is you who have no good edu­ca­tion­al back­ground if you don’t know them. And I will hear the famous world­wide known mighty bUZ­Zniks and here you can lis­ten to them on myspace and anoth­er bunch of oth­er world-famous groups will play there. (It was so damned hot that every­thing was brought to the swim­ming pool that the audi­ence could lis­ten from the water … this is a very pro­gres­sive and real­ly nice way to sup­port the audi­ence, isn’t it?)

und um 5 Uhr früh ging’s los

Ich in Schwechat - abfulgbereit Ich bin in der Nacht aufgewacht und wun­derte mich über das Geräusch: ein Schneep­flug? Ich bin also tat­säch­lich aus dem ver­schneit­en Wien wegge­flo­gen, um bei 40° in Mel­bourne anzukommen.

So stand ich dann in Schwechat am Flughafen.

Und das war dann der let­zte Blick auf Österreich… Flughafen im Schnee

Unterwegs

Um 5 wird das Taxi vor mein­er Tür ste­hen und es geht zum Flughafen.

Vielle­icht klingt es sehr lächer­lich, aber ich freue mich am meis­ten auf den Him­mel und ganz beson­ders auf das Kreuz des Südens und Aus­tralien ist so lieb, dass ich es auch gle­ich auf der Flagge sehen kann, während ich in Cape Town ziem­lich unsich­er und verzweifelt danach gesucht habe. Hier sehe ich nun wie dieses Kreuz, das für mich gar nicht so ein Kreuz ist.

Das Kreuz des Südens ist ein kleines, aber markantes Stern­bild des Süd­him­mels. Durch seine vier hellen Sterne und die Nähe zu jenen des Zen­tau­ren ist es eine sehr auf­fäl­lige Kon­stel­la­tion, die auch zur genäherten Ori­en­tierung nach Süden benützt wird.

Ich freu mich auch auf den Mond, der schon in Thai­land ganz anders am Him­mel lag und ich werde in mein­er Zeit in Aus­tralien 2x den Voll­mond sehen.

Ich war neugierig

und hab heute noch mal nachgeschaut, wie es mit dem Wet­ter aussieht. Aber eigentlich has­se ich es, denn das Wet­ter ist, wie es ist, also küm­mere ich mich nor­maler­weise nicht drum. Nun da gab es heute nei­di­ge Kol­le­gen … ihr müßt nicht nei­dig sein.…

Mor­gen soll es 43° in Mel­bourne haben, da ich glück­licher­weise erst am Sam­stag den Tag sehe, da soll es “nur” mehr 35° haben (und es sind Cel­sius nichts anderes, lei­der), muß ich mich also nur fra­gen, wie ich 35° über­leben soll.

Mir ist noch immer nicht ganz klar, ob ich mich nach der Kälte des Büros sehnen werde oder nicht. Aber der Fäch­er ist schon lange eingepackt.

Die Infor­ma­tio­nen von dem Bureau of Meterol­o­gy dient wohl dazu, Depres­sio­nen zu bekom­men. Der Gedanke an 43° läßt mein Hirn anschwellen, das find­en die Aussies aber gar nicht so schlimm, denn es soll Sturm geben bei 43°. Das scheint schlim­mer zu sein. Aha!

The Tour

To get an impres­sion where I will be dur­ing the next weeks:
tour I will arrive in Mel­bourne and stay for few days in Castle­maine, leave for Ade­laide and there I will go on a tour for 8 days up to Alice Springs. On the 11th I take the Ghan, the train up to the north and arrive a day lat­er in Dar­win. Few days lat­er I will fly to Perth and take a camper­van and let my fate decide where to go. On the 28th Hobart, Tas­ma­nia will be wait­ing for me and I will stay few days there before I will go back to Mel­bourne and see what will hap­pen. On the 14th March I will arrive in Viennaet
